How to off-board a data source from SENTRON Powermind

SENTRON Powermind has no embedded feature for removal of a data source (Powercenter 3000) from the application. Hence, this can be necessary in the following scenarios:

  • The data source is no longer valid and should be removed to free the space and the number of objects in the tenant.

  • You have license only for one agent/data source, but you want to observe another data source.

Follow the below steps for offboarding a data source:

  1. Offboard Powercenter 3000 from data source side:

    • Open Powercenter 3000 Web interface and navigate to Settings section.

    • Click "CLOUD" tab.

    • Click "Stop" button next to "Insights Hub service state".

    • Click "Offboard" button next to "Insights Hub connection state".

  2. Offboard data source (asset) from Insights Hub side:

    • Launch Asset Manager System App from Insights Hub Dashboard.

    • Click "Assets" menu and select applicable asset, representing your data source (Powercenter 3000).

    • Scroll down and open "MindConnect Lib" connection settings.

    • Click "Edit boarding configuration".

    • Click "Close".

  3. Delete the asset with asset manager (if history is not necessary anymore):

    • Select the asset object in asset manager and click “Delete asset”.

    • Confirm delete operation.
