MindConnect Hardware Release Notes

General

  • MindSphere provides a highly reliable system, however the MindConnect can be affected by system internal incidents.

  • The MindConnect system send data into the MindSphere. If the data provider (e.g. OPC server) is not available. A value "0" with a bad quality code will be send up. To see the quality code in the IoT model it's necessary that the quality code is always turned on at the creation of aspects.

MindConnect Nano

What's new?

Key features:

  • Upload cycle (fix): 10 seconds

  • Datapoints: 250

  • Data providers: 30 connections

The firmware has to be upgraded manually the first time. It's described here https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/de/view/109745561 in detail.

  • The MindConnect can now be downgraded from V3 to V2 firmware.

  • The firmware to upgrade can be selected in the firmware upgrade screen. (But right now just the latest firmware can be selected).

  • The configuration will just downloaded after the "Apply changes" button is pressed.

  • The MindConnect devices can reset to factory settings.

  • S7 Dataprovider: Time of day (TOD) is not available anymore.

Fixed issues

  • The MindConnect ID can be changed afterwards (after it's offboarded).

  • The MindConnect can be onboarded to several tenants (One at each time).

  • The MindConnect OPC UA server can connect to a OPC server with a default certificate.

  • Sporadic loss of token is fixed.

Known issues

  • When an agent is onboarded, offboarded and onboarded again, no data will be sent to MindSphere. To enable the existing configuration of the agent you need to save again the configuration in the Asset Manager.

  • The usage of more than 30 datasources (MindConnect Nano) is not recommended.

  • The buffer to store data is currently reduced to 100MB.

  • S7 400 PLC: The connection via a CP is not possible.

  • To delete a MindConnect asset (Type: "core.mcnano") this has to be done:

    • Offboard MindConnect agent.

    • Update the MindConnect serial number (preferred new serial number DELETED_{OldSerialNumber} )

    • Delete the asset.

If this will not be done, the same device (MindConnect serial number) could not be used anymore. 

MindConnect IoT2040

MindConnect Edge Analytics

What's new?

  • Not released right now.

MindConnect Integration

  • From the Launchpad MindConnect Integration is accessed. Once the user tries to go back to the Launchpad via the UI it takes the user back to the MindConnect Integration page, not the Launchpad.
