MindConnect Hardware Release Notes

General

  • Firmware version: V03.03.00.04 (MindConnect Nano) and V03.03.00.03 (MindConnect IoT)

  • MindSphere provides a highly reliable system, however the MindConnect can be affected by system internal incidents.

  • The MindConnect system send data into the MindSphere. If the data provider (e.g. OPC server) is not available. A value "0" with a bad quality code will be sent up. To see the quality code in the IoT model it's necessary that the quality code is always turned on at the creation of aspects.

  • We recommend to use an OPC UA server as data source with a certificate.

MindConnect Nano

What's new?

  • OPC UA adapter: Username/password authentication.

  • OPC UA adapter: Secure communication with certificates.

  • S7 adapter: The rack and slot address can be entered now manually.

  • New SYSTEM adapter: To be able to send up MindConnect system information like "memory usage" .

  • Data point health status is now displayed in UI.

  • More detailed agent status is now displayed in UI.

Fixed issues

  • Reconnection to temporarily unavailable Modbus devices.

  • Fixed Modbus configuration: If the Modbus RTU is selected and the serial port is empty, please edit again the data source and press the save button. Then the "Com1" or "Com2" should be visible again.

  • Fixed: If the Modbus adapter have issues in reading data from Modbus devices the MindConnect ERROR LED will show a yellow light until the box will be restarted.

Known issues

  • The usage of more than 30 data sources (MindConnect Nano) is not recommended.

  • The connection to a SIMOCODE, SIMOTION, SINAMICS OPC UA Server cannot reestablish automatic if the used Firmware has a MiniWeb version <V5.1. It's recommended to upgrade to a new FW version of the SIMOCODE, SIMOTION, SINAMICS device.

  • If the version V03.02.00.00 b003 should be upgraded to the latest version, and the automatic firmware update does not work, please use the manual update option. This can happen if you use a proxy with fixed credentials.

  • OPC UA Server with certificate: If the Nanobox fails to connect to opc server the first time (e.g. due to wrong IP address) using a certificate, then the uploaded certificate needs to be renamed otherwise the new changes made on the UI will not be accepted by the box.

Fixed issues

  • Fixed Modbus configuration: If the Modbus RTU is selected and the serial port is empty, please edit again the data source and press the save button. Then the "Com1" or "Com2" should be visible again.
