MindConnect Hardware Release Notes

General

  • Firmware version: V03.04.01.01 b029

  • MindSphere provides a highly reliable system, however the MindConnect can be affected by system internal incidents.

  • The MindConnect system sends data into the MindSphere. If the data provider (e.g. OPC server) is not available a value "0" with a bad quality code will be sent up. To see the quality code in the IoT model it's necessary that the quality code is always turned on at the creation of aspects.

  • We recommend to use an OPC UA server as data source with a certificate.

  • For a connection to MindSphere Region China 1 the MindConnect Nano/IoT2040 has to have a firmware V3.3.00.04. or higher.

What's new?

  • Within this release the new Remote Restarting is now available with newest Firmware.

Known issues

  • After firmware updates, it can sporadic happen that the old firmware version is shown in Asset Manager. After the MindConnect device was rebooted the current version will be shown.

  • The hysteresis support for Modbus is disabled in this release. Please keep the latest firmware version if you need this feature.

  • The usage of more than 30 data sources (MindConnect Nano) is not recommended.

  • The connection to a SIMOCODE, SIMOTION, SINAMICS OPC UA Server cannot re-establish automatic if the used Firmware has a MiniWeb version <V5.1. It's recommended to upgrade to a new FW version of the SIMOCODE, SIMOTION, SINAMICS device.

  • If the version V03.02.00.00 b003 should be upgraded to the latest version, and the automatic firmware update does not work, please use the manual update option. This can happen if you use a proxy with fixed credentials.

  • EtherNet/IP: Reading of string data points is not possible in this release.

  • RestricedDeviceConfiguration: Any boolean type values need to be set as string values (as shown in the documentation).

  • OPC UA Server with certificate: If the Nanobox fails to connect to opc server the first time (e.g. due to wrong IP address) using a certificate, then the uploaded certificate needs to be renamed otherwise the new changes made on the UI will not be accepted by the box.

Currently not available in Europe 2:

  • The health status of datapoints and device is not available in EU2.
