Known issues

• The Asset Manager documentation describes a new tab named "Connectivity" which intends to show the online state and current firmware-version running on the asset in the field. The described feature will be released in a subsequent step. The documentation could not be adapted in time anymore.

Known issues

• General: X-Tools is capable of uploading huge amounts of data, but you need to keep in mind the limits and purchased size of your MindSphere plan at all times.

• If the asset path in a Storage Profile contains more than one asset, it might lead to creation of duplicate assets. It can be fixed by deleting those duplicated assets, changing, saving and restarting the Storage Profile.

• Only single asset sharing is available in the first release.

• Sharing of assets derived from basicAgent and their corresponding plugins is not yet supported.

• Tenant assets can not be moved under collaborators root asset or shared assets.

• MindConnect Data Source connection - A MindConnect Data Source configuration provides a possibility to receive data, which is read out by MindConnectNano Data Adapters (e.g. S7, OPC UA, Modbus)

• Analysis Package Event Based Data Upload - The Analysis Package Event Based Data Upload offers to upload chosen input data dependent on events. On occurrence of a defined event a data collection is triggered. The data will be recorded with the defined length and afterwards uploaded to Mindsphere and stored as files.

Known issues

• Deactivating a data point within a MindConnect data source will not deactivate a connection check in Edge Analytics Engine. This can lead an error if the target device is not available anymore.

• DataBus and Event Based Data Upload configuration can be created with no or deactivated data, which will lead to a critical error on project start.

• In some sporadic cases of a configuration update via Ege Analytics Manager it can happen that the Mind Connect Nano gets stuck in "project stopping" - In this case the MindConnect Nano has to be rebooted.

• Note: A full configured monitoring of the Analyzing Packages Vibration Characteristic Values and Vibration Frequency Spectra with all channels of one SM1281 can exceed the CPU performance of the MindConnect Nano. Also in other scenarios dependent of tasks running in parallel on the MindConnect Nano, CPU load can get to high. The recommendation is to use only two full configured Vibration Frequency Spectra Analyzing Packages in parallel.

• Note: A compatibility check, whether the Edge Analytics Engine version on the target MindConnect Nano supports all possible types of Analyzing Packages, which are offered by EAM, is not yet done. Therefore it has to be made sure that the newest firmware version is installed on the MindConnect Nano when using the new Analyzing Package Vibration Frequency Spectra, otherwise the Edge Analytics Engine will suspend.

• The subtenant use case is not yet supported by Data Flow Engine.

• Applications can use the subtenant functionality via the provided APIs. Tenant administrators should pay attention when assigning such apps to subtenant users as subtenant isolation cannot be ensured by the platform. The app might expose data to the user that is not intended to be seen.

• When moving an asset from a parent tenant to a subtenant, there might be a delay of up to 30 minutes until a subtenant user will be able to see data related to that asset.

• Please be aware, if you provide a user (even subtenant user) the role "mdsp:core:TenantAdmin", this user is then able to get access to all kinds of tenant data.

What‘s new?

• In Platform Purchase is now available in the Usage Transparency application for selected products and can be found inside the Limit view.

Known issues

• File Storage (GB)” displays the value 0 (zero) in "Limits“ and "Services“ sections. This is a temporary issue only related to visibility in Usage Transparency Service without any impact on data storage or availability.

• In "Reports" or "Overview" section in few cases a time out error message appears when loading the page for a while. As a workaround, after getting error, reload the report for same month with a second click.

The function "extension" within explorer is not working. This is because the backend feature is deactivated because of technical limitations. 

Known issues

• Any request within Visual Explorer is limited to an execution time of 60 seconds.

• The "share via link" functionality can sporadically be unreliable.

• Support time series data types “LONG” with values for safe integer -> (2^53-1) to (2^53-1).

• If the value is e.g. 2⁶³ the value will be reset to safe integer -> 2^53-1

Visual Explorer – Quota Enforcement

• With the upcoming release we are introducing quota enforcement for the Visual Explorer. The use of the Visual Explorer is limited to a certain number of users depending on the size of the offering you have ordered.

  With the next release we will limit the number of users to the actually ordered offering, i.e. you will also technically not be able to have more users access the application than contractually agreed.

  With the next release, we initially delete all users from Tableau Server, this has no effect on data. From there on, when a new user tries to log in the first time, we check the desired role and decide whether they are redirected to the application or not. If the limit of available licenses has been reached, we display an error message listing the acquired vs. consumed users. License allocation is based on first come, first serve.

• Example: you have purchased the Visual Explorer Viewer Offering Small, 20 users will get access to the application with the respective rights. The first 20 users who have the role and access the application will be able to use it as desired. The 21^st and each following user will not be able to access the application and see the described error message.

• Please be aware that the assignment of the Visual Explorer roles in the Settings application is unaffected by this change. The role can be assigned without any limitation.

What‘s new?

• Support of cross-tenancy for read access (shared assets).

• New node Asset type: new node to process timeseries data per asset type to scale workflows.

• Extended http request node: now MindSphere services can be used within the http request node.
