What's new?

• Static Aspect Configuration:

  • It is now possible to set the value of static aspect variables on asset instance level and override the default value

• Fleet Manager Navigation:

  • In the action menu of a selected asset at the top of the page it is now possible to directly navigate to the Fleet Manager

  • The user will be redirected to the Aspects view of the selected asset

• Time-Series Status:

  • The Asset Manager is now capable of displaying the latest known value in the last 24h for dynamic aspect variables

  • The information is shown to the user in the extended detail view and retrieved for all variables in a dynamic aspect

  • The time-range is defined as the last 24 hours and aggregated per hour. If there is no value captured in this time period there will be also no value displayed in the Asset Manager

  • There are no time-series values for simulation assets

• New Validations:

  • There is now a validation for variables names and aspect names on a defined type. It is not possible any longer to use the same name for variables and for aspects

• Plugin-Header Styling adaptions:

  • The possibility to move back to Asset Manager is located to the right in the plugin header and renamed to "Close".

• Image Browser: Up to now users in the Asset Manager could only upload new images and not reuse already uploaded. Using the image browser it is possible to:

  • list all already uploaded images on a tenant

  • use an already uploaded image for new assignments

  • delete images that are not in use anymore

  • filter for name, uploading date and usage

• The length of static string variables can now be extended up to the maximum of 255 characters when they were initially defined with a shorter length.

• Pagination is now available on all (read-only) data tables.

• When creating new assets, the type selection is displayed as a detailed list showing the type-image, name and description.

• The list for assets, types and aspects is now collapsible via a button on the bottom. When creating new assets, the list of assets will automatically collapse to improve the focus on the type-selection.

• When using plugins in Asset Manager, the legal information is now available in the drop-down of the plugin.

Known issues

• Fleet Manager navigation is not working correctly if you have to re-login as query parameters are lost. Please try again by clicking the Fleet Manager navigation button.

• The Asset Manager documentation describes a new tab named "Connectivity", which intends to show the online state and current firmware-version running on the asset in the field. The described view will be released in a subsequent step. The documentation could not be adapted in time anymore.

• Customers can edit the descriptions of asset-types and aspect-types.

• The delete-dialog can show the to-be deleted object.

• MindSphere standard events for the selected asset can be shown in the asset's detail view.

• Grouping in resource lists (assets, types, aspects)

• Sorting and filtering on tables

• Search for assets independent of their position in the hierarchy by switching to the search-view in the asset-list

• When an asset representing a subtenant is selected you can navigate the settings application via the action menu

• A tenant administrator can quickly deactivate and activate user without the need to delete and create them again. A deactivated cannot access the tenant.

• The icon for the Subtenant module in Settings is changed to fit better to the Subtenant module and enable us to use the previous icon in other way.

• Name and Description of User Groups can be edited

• Customers can initiate new collaborations with other tenants as a base for asset and data sharing via the Asset Manager (Cross-Tenancy related feature)

• App-specific Roles: MindSphere core applications release individual roles to provide more flexibility in role assignment

• Custom Roles: existing roles can be bundled into a custom role to make handling roles easier

• Nested User Groups: it is possible to add whole user groups to other user groups and thus be more efficient in managing users

• Minor design improvement within provider information module

Known issues

• Applications can use the subtenant functionality via the provided APIs. Tenant administrators should pay attention when assigning such apps to subtenant users as subtenant isolation cannot be ensured by the platform. The app might expose data to the user that is not intended to be seen.

• When moving an asset from a parent tenant to a subtenant, there might be a delay of up to 30 minutes until a subtenant user will be able to see data related to that asset.

• Please be aware, if you provide a user (even subtenant user) the role "mdsp:core:TenantAdmin", this user is then able to get access to all kinds of tenant data.

Known issues

• Any request within Visual Explorer is limited to an execution time of 60s

• The "share via link" functionality works unreliable

• Some statements in calculated fields may be rejected in MindGate (formulas containing "ELSE" and "CASE")

Currently not available in China 1:

• Update the Visual Explorer environment with Tableau server version to 2019.1.1. All features which are available by tableau within this version will also be available in the VE environment (e.g. implement Image files to the dashboard).

  • Introducing a technical limit of the number of users to the ordered offering, i.e. you will not be able to have more users access the Application than contractually agreed.

  • Process:

  a. All users are deleted from Tableau Server (no effect on your data)

  b. When a new user tries to log in the first time, we check the desired role and decide whether they are redirected to the application or not

  c. If the limit of available licenses has been reached, we display an error message listing the acquired vs. consumed users.

  • License allocation is based on first come, first serve.

    Example: you have purchased the Visual Explorer Viewer Offering Small, 20 users will get access to the Application with the respective rights. The first 20 users who have the role and access the Application will be able to use it as desired. The 21st and each following user will not be able to access the Application and see the described error message.

  • Role assignment: Settings Application is unaffected – role can be assigned without any limitation

Currently not available in China 1:

• Anomaly detection nodes: Use Anomaly detection nodes within your workflow to automatically detect unexpected behaviour of processes and assets using time series data. Typical use cases for the Anomaly Detection Service are process and condition monitoring, early warning applications, and fault condition detection without an explicit definition.

• Support of Cross tenancy for read access (shared assets)

• New node Asset type: new node to process time series data per asset type to scale workflows

• Extended http request node: MindSphere services can be used within the http request node

• Custom Nodes:

Known issues

• Time used for usage information storage and displayed on UTS UI is only using UTC time zone, not depending on the time zone of the region.

• All usages generated within a Cloud Foundry Environment cannot be collected by Usage Transparency Services. All usages from and to a Cloud Foundry Environment e.g. requests to APIs still will be collected.

• Usage Transparency Service reports are only available after a 1-hour delay for developers.

• Customer Dashboard does not cover all metrics and upgrades that UTS measures for a tenant. We are continuously working on introducing more metrics and upgrades.

Currently not available in China 1:

• Additional metrics can be shown at the Customer Dashboard: Number of Users in Visual Explorer having role "Viewer" and Number of Users in Visual Explorer having role "Creator"
