Asset Performance Monitoring

What's new?

With this release, we are introducing a new MindSphere application: Asset Performance Monitoring.

MindSphere Asset Performance Monitoring application enables performance and condition monitoring of connected assets without the overhead and personnel requirements of proprietary applications. It is designed to work with minimum configuration and to provide an intuitive user experience.

  • Multi-site monitoring

    • Asset of any type can be selected to add a new site in the application.

    • Site configuration can be saved even after removing the site from the application.

  • High Value Asset Monitoring

    • Both raw value and mapped status text can be read from time-series and asset configuration.

  • Rule Management

    • Rules can be defined to track values from multiple variables from one asset or from multiple assets.

  • Event Management

    • New event type is created from standard event type to include more information and to have more options for event state to support simple workflow of maintenance activities.

  • KPI Calculations

    • KPI values can be calculated using properly selected asset variable, threshold indication to inform service state and maintenance schedule.

Known issues

  • High Value Asset Monitoring

    • Application matches only the text version of the value of the variable to the user supplied text, but the configuration label reads "Variable value:" giving incomplete information to the user. Label should read "Variable value text:".

  • Multi-site monitoring

    • Application does not sort list of most frequently occurring events at site upon loading the site dashboard.

    • Removal of site without the removal of site configuration may result in failure if site has rules.

  • Event Management

    • Application may not correctly sort events if timestamp of events in day contain both am and pm.

  • KPI Calculations

    • Variable of any type can be selected for the KPI calculation configuration leading to inconclusive output if unsupported variable type is selected (requires positive float number).
