Visualizing a chart sorted by size (Duration curve)

You can use the Duration Curve to display a chart where values are sorted by size.

It shows the measured values over a specific period, arranged from the highest (on the far left) to the lowest (on the far right).

This allows you to see how high the peak value was and how long it lasted.

If you want to reduce that peak value, the Duration Curve helps you estimate how often you would need to temporarily switch off a supply object — such as for 15 minutes each month. This method, known as active load management, can help lower energy consumption.

Procedure

To define widget-specific display options, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new widget of the type "Duration Curve" or edit the existing one.
  2. In the "Details" area, specify the maximum number of values to be displayed.

Result

The Duration Curve shows how long a parameter maintained a specific value during the selected time period.
