Defining limits

Under "Step time analysis settings", define limits for each step or for the whole sequence.

When a limit is exceeded, the step is evaluated as faulty in the step time analysis and displayed as such in the dashboard.

When a limit for a whole sequence is exceeded, the sequence will not be integrated in the statistics and will be discarded for analysis purposes.
The data can be still shown on the dashboard by clicking "Show sequences outside of limits".

Procedure for setting step limits

You can define limits that are product-dependent.

To do this, the asset must have been assigned the aspect type StepChainAnalysis_InitialStep in IIH Essentials.

To set limits for one or more steps, follow these steps:

  1. Open My Plant and select an asset. The tiles of automatically generated and user-defined dashboards for this asset are displayed.
  2. Display the automatically generated dashboard for step time analysis.
  3. Click 165142425867-d2e5812.
  4. Select "Settings for step time analysis".

The list of steps defined under this asset are displayed. You can configure both product-specific and product-independent steps under an asset and set limits for this purpose.
  5. Under Date settings, specify the period for which the information is displayed by default, even if you reload the view or restart the app.
  6. Under Product, open the drop-down menu and select
    1. the product for whose steps you want to define the limit values, or
    2. Unassigned if you are editing product-neutral steps
  7. If necessary, assign a corresponding name under Display name. The name appears after the product name or after the label Unassigned.
  8. Use the button to select a period whose data is to serve as the basis for defining the limits.

  9. In the Limits column, set the values for the planned and actual duration of the respective step. When the value is exceeded, the step is evaluated as faulty.
  10. Under Overview, you can automatically assign a limit to all steps using a mathematical function.
    170094201099-d2e5866
To use this function, follow these steps:
    1. Decide whether to assign the automatic limit to the actual, planned or all step limits.
    2. From the drop-down menu, select the minimum or the maximum as initial value of the step.
    3. As the factor, specify a percentage that is added to the initial value.
    4. Click Apply.
A limit is calculated for selected steps on the basis of the respective limit values and entered in the corresponding column for limit values.
  11. To save the changes and switch to the dashboard view, click Save.
If you want to continue working in the same view after saving, click Save & Continue.
To exit the view without saving, click Cancel.

  9. On the right, you can automatically assign a limit according to the detected sequences in the selected time frame.
To use this function, follow these steps:
    1. From the drop-down menu, you select the minimum, maximum, average or median as initial value of the step.
    2. As the factor, you specify a percentage that is added to the initial value.
    3. Click "Apply".
