Overview¶
The Matrix feature simplifies manual data acquisition by allowing users to enter multiple parameter values in a single, structured table view. Previously, manual data entry required navigating to each parameter individually in the parameter configuration view. With the Matrix feature, users can now work with parameter sets directly, improving efficiency and usability.
A Matrix object is linked to an asset and includes:
- Name
- Date settings
- List of parameters (one or more)
- Update rate
Matrix objects appear as cards on the asset view. Clicking a Matrix card opens a table view for data entry, complemented by additional detail views such as charts and boxplots.
Key rules and limitations¶
- Only administrators can create Matrix objects; users can view them but cannot enter data.
- Each asset can have up to 10 Matrix objects.
- Each Matrix can include up to 50 parameters.
- Only variables can be selected as parameters.
- Matrix objects are included in billing; an asset is billed once a Matrix analysis is created.
- No import/export functionality is available for Matrix objects.
