Creating a widget

Requirements

To enable visualization of plant data, such as production figures, machine operating times, water consumption and calculation of data using KPIs,

  • the data must be transferred from the plant to the IIH Essentials.

  • At least one dashboard is created on the desired asset.

The data structure of your plant is then automatically displayed in the app.

Adding a widget

Select your dashboard to add a widget.

  • If the dashboard is empty, you'll see that no widget has been created yet. Create a new one.
  • If widgets have already been created, find the dots on the right and select "Add widget".

Configuring a widget

There are 4 steps to creating a widget.

  1. General: Widget type selection
    • Give the widget a name.
    • Select whether the date settings are to be taken from the dashboard.
If the widget uses date settings different from the dashboard, provide the required information.
  2. Assets: Asset selection
  3. Details: Additional settings
These settings depend on the individual widget type and are used to customize the appearance of the widget.
Adapt your dahsboard customizing the widget's size, position and appearance.
  4. Preview: The preview of the widget just created
If the widget does not meet the requirements, adjust the widget before you create it. For example, add another y-axis if values are in different ranges.

Switching between steps

When all the required details are available for the first time, you can switch to a step and make changes regardless of the order. If you change the widget type, you need to provide the details again.

Defining date settings

With the date settings you can define the period from which the values are to be visualized. You can apply the dashboard date settings to a widget or define your own date settings for this widget.

The following variations are possible:

  • "Use the date settings from the dashboard" to use the period that is defined in the dashboard.
Changes to the dashboard date settings are applied to all dashboard widgets.
  • To specify a period, clear the "Use the date settings from the dashboard" option.
    • Period
Specify the duration (for example, week). The start and end time is defined by the preset periods (day, week, month, year, etc.).
    • Use current date
To enter the date and time of the start time manually, clear this option.
The end time is defined by the "Period".
    • Offset
Specify by how many days, weeks, months or years the start time should be shifted.
The start time can be either in the future or in the past.

Selecting parameters

You can select either a variable or a KPI type as parameter. You can select up to 10 parameters.

  1. To exchange a selected parameter with another parameter, click "Replace".
  2. To make further specifications for the selected parameter or variable, click "Edit".
    edit

    • Specify an alternative label if needed.
This label is displayed in the legend of the detail view instead of the asset and the aspect name of a parameter.
    • Select an aggregation for each variable.
You can find more information on the aggregation functions here: Aggregation functions.
The same parameter can be visualized with a different aggregation in a widget.
    • Specify details about the visualization of the parameter:
      • Number of decimal places
      • Color
      • Type
    • Specify limits for warnings and alerts.
Limits are displayed as dashed lines in the detail view.
If you have already defined limit values for the parameter, they will be displayed in the widget as default values. These limits can be overwritten.
