Visualizing correlations (Diagram)

The "Chart" widget displays the value of parameters as a diagram over time.

You can select a type of visualization for each parameter.

Use of variables of "String" and "Bool" type

To show more non-numeric information in the Tooltips, select string or bool-type variables. In this way, you can also visualize text for each data point, e.g. a batch number or the customer of a batch.

Procedure

To define widget-specific display options, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new widget or edit the existing one.
  2. Select a parameter which is visualized in the widget.
  3. Click 157453207819-d2e6789 and open the "Visualization" area.
    156472933643-d2e6795
  4. For variables, specify how many decimal places are displayed.
  5. Select the color for the display of the parameter.
  6. Select the type of the visualization.

    • Line chart (Line)
    • Spline curve
    • Area chart (Area)
    • Bar chart (Bar)
The columns of several parameters are displayed stacked.
    • Scatter chart (Scatter)
  7. Activate further options:

    • Select whether the value is to be visible.
    • With the bar chart, you can select whether the value is to be displayed stacked.
  8. Define additional settings of your diagram widget. The following options are available:

    • Definition of a second x-axis for comparison If you want to compare two different time periods, you can add a second x-axis. This can be defined either dynamically (for instance -1 week, -1 month) based on the selected time range or by specifying a fixed date and time.
    • Definition of the display of the y axes. A separate y-axis is created for each unit assigned to a parameter. You can define up to five y-axes per widget. Each parameter is automatically assigned to a y-axis, but you can manually reassign parameters to different axes if needed. For each y-axis, you can set a minimum and maximum value to display only a specific range within the widget. Alternatively, you can enable "Scale by values", which automatically adjusts the y-axis range based on the visible data when zooming in.
    • Definition of calculation period for KPI instances.
