Creating KPI types

Created KPI types are displayed in the "Configuration" tab.

Here you can create new KPI types.

Follow these steps to create a KPI type:

1. Select "Configuration" > "KPI types".

   All KPI types are displayed.

2. Click on "New KPI type".

3. Assign a unique name and a unit.

4. In the formula editor, use operands, constants, time categories and operators to compose the formula that is used to calculate the KPI. You can create operands and constants directly for this purpose.

   NOTE

   Time categories

   The time category is used for the calculation of OEE key performance indicators. You can select the time category and specify whether the duration or the number of events is used for the calculation.

   An operand is a placeholder that is later filled with actual values from the variables or KPI instances.

   

Connect the operands with the variables or KPI instances transferred to the MindSphere.
