Create a new customized role for an application

By default, two user roles - "Admin" and "User" are created for an application. You can define new roles other than the provided roles in MindSphere.

You can delete the default roles as per your requirements. But at least one role needs to be created. This is to ensure that a user can access the application from Launchpad.

The cloned applications with different versions are assigned the same set of custom roles, scopes and MindSphere core roles are inherited from their parent version.

If the default roles (admin and user) are deleted, they cannot be further re-created for the cloned applications.


  1. In "Authorization Management" tab, select "App Roles".

  2. Select your application from the "Applications" window.

  3. Select the "Roles" tab.

  4. Click on the134989463051.pngbutton.

  5. Save the newly created application role.



Custom roles can exist without any scopes.
