Asset Manager¶
Create aspects, variables, types and a new asset in Insights Hub¶
On the Asset Manager app, create aspects and variables

Click on the Aspects tab Aspects are data modeling mechanisms for assets. Aspect groups are used to bring related data points together.

Click on Create aspect Every aspect has a name and a specific Type ID

Enter the data for the new aspect Add a description and choose a category. Dynamic for time-series data and Static for static data

Click on Add variable, to add a variable An aspect can consist of several variables of different data types Name, Data Type, Unit and Max length are defined

Save your creation Once an aspect has been created, it can be used for multiple assets
Create a new asset by selecting a type with aspects and variables¶
If you use a MindConnect Element you have to proceed with the data mapping. Data mapping matches variables of an aspect with the respective data points of a data source.

On the Assets Tab select Create asset An asset is a digital representation of a machine or an automation system with one or multiple automation units

Select Type Select predefined types or if needed, define a new asset type and click Create

Enter a name, description and the data for the asset Location (time zone), Variables and Aspects

Save the asset you have just created
Create a new asset type with the previous created aspects and variables¶

Click Create type A type is a pre-configured template for an asset

Enter the type ID, name and description Open the Image bar to add an image
-
Open the Variables bar to add variables Enter the variable data
-
Open the Aspects bar to add aspects Browse all available aspects

Enter a name for the new type aspect and choose an aspect from the dropdown menu

Create a new Asset by selecting the type with aspects and variables
Share assets with other tenants using Cross-Tenancy¶
Create a Collaboration¶

Go to the Launchpad and find the Settings icon
-
Click on the Collaborations tab
-
Select Offer Collaboration To start a new offer
- Enter the partner's Tenant Name
- To accept the legal notice, mark the checkbox
- To start the request, click Offer Find more information in the Settings documentation
On the Launchpad go to the Asset Manager app:

In the Asset tab, select the asset you want to share
-
Click on the 3 dots on the right to open the advanced operating tools
- Select Share asset
- Choose the receiving tenant and check the access level

Click share to confirm and share your asset

Go to the Sharings tab For an overview of the assets you shared with other tenants and the assets that have been shared with you
Direct access to Visual Flow Creator and Insights Hub Monitor¶
On the Asset Manager app:

Search assets that are already onboarded
-
Look for Active and Deactivated flows on the Visual Flow Creator using the Others tab at the bottom of the screen

Click on Open Visual Flow Creator tab to visualize the flow directly in the Visual Flow Creator app

In the top right, click on the 3 dots icon to open the Insights Hub Monitor app

Insights Hub Monitor¶
Monitor the status of your assets using different views¶
In Insights Hub Monitor navigate to Explore / Assets
, choose assets to be displayed
On map view

Switch to Show assets on map view
-
Select Sort to visualize Assets with active or historical error state first

Select specific filters to Asset Health As Error, Information, OK and Warning
-
Only assets with selected filters will be displayed on the map
A custom map

Switch to Custom map
-
Upload a picture of the facility
-
Configure the position of the asset on the picture

Apply changes to save
Investigate issues with a deep dive into your information using Fleet Manager extensions¶
Available extensions Time Series, Events, Export, Info, Attachments and Rules and 3rd party plugin support

Select an asset
-
Open the Time Series extension Aspect plugin show available time series data and displays them in a chart
-
Adjust the the time span of displayed data

Select specific variable to display
-
Analyze time series data Connection issues can be seen as Events
Analyze Events of Machines

Open the Event extension Event plugin displays alerts and events from assets
-
Check Event details
-
Select one or more events and Acknowledge Events are displayed for detected correlations

Open the Info extension Find details about selected asset as Asset Health
-
View triggered actions on Map view
Create a new Rule Receive notifications and automatically detect issue with your connected assets

Open the Rules extension The plus sign tab show the available extensions

Click Create Follow the steps of the rule configuration

Select one or more variables
-
Define the conditions for the rule Hysteresis and debouncing time available
-
Define the severity of the rule and description Information, Warning or Defect Define limited events for a specific time when needed
-
Enter one or more e-mail addresses and check Asset state view The notifications of the asset state will be sent

Define rule name and click Save
Open Visual Analyzer and Visual Flow Creator Dashboard from Fleet Manager¶
- Open the Aspects extension
- On the right corner click on the Visual Analyzer icon

Compare variables and analyze how assets are performing display the threshold value of a rule as a boundary in the line chart

Open the Visual Flow Creator plugin on the extensions
- See the preconfigure Visual Flow Creator dashboard The dashboard creator need to publish to the tenant
