Insights Hub Business Intelligence¶
Create a dashboard and publish to your tenant¶
To create a Dashboard in the Visual Flow Creator app, follow these steps:
- Add the dashboard nodes to the flow.
Dashboard nodes, also known as widgets, are a set of nodes that will provide functionality for reading, visualizing, and analyzing data on a live dashboard. - Double-click the Dashboard node to edit properties.
- Assign each node to a "Group" in a Tab.
- Click the "Dashboard" Tab to see the dashboard layout. The layout defines the tabs with dashboard elements and links.
- Create a Tab. Specify the tab name.
- In the Tab, add one or more Groups.
Edit "Group" information
This specifies the tab where the group will be displayed on the dashboard. - Re-order the tabs, groups, and links.
When you hover over a tab or group, a red dashed outline highlights the corresponding element. - Click the open in browser icon to quickly visualize the dashboard.

The following sections provide a detailed description of each option:
- Group: A group is a container for multiple dashboard elements. You can add or edit a group for each flow and you can develop multiple groups under the tab.
- Tabs: Tabs are created under dashboard window. You can add and edit groups and edit the group properties under the tab. You can add or edit multiple groups in the tabs.
- Links: You can create links to other web pages in the dashboard panel of the sidebar window.
- Dashboard Site: Edit the widget formats for more customization.
- Dashboard Theme: Edit the color of the background and the upper bar of your dashboard, by default, they are white and blue, respectively, as well as the font of the text.
Access the dashboards via Dashboard Viewer or Fleet Manager¶
To configure the dashboard, follow these steps:
- In the Visual Flow Creator app, click the dashboard tab under "Layout".
- Click "Edit" on the Tab to be published.
- In the Access settings, select "Show in Dashboard Viewer" and the update the changes.
- Navigate to the "Theme" tab and modify the dashboard colors as required.
- Save the flow to apply the changes.
To access the Launchpad on the Dashboard Viewer, follow these steps:
- Select the desired dashboard.
- Visualize and interact with the dashboard.
In the Launchpad, click the Fleet Manager app. - Filter and select the asset.
- Click the "Visual Flow Creator Plug-in".
- Visualize and interact with the dashboard.
Insights Hub Business Intelligence (Visual Explorer)¶
Defining data sources to start Insights Hub Business Intelligence (Visual Explorer) - Create a new Data Source¶
To create the Data source in the Insights Hub Business Intelligence Data (Visual Explorer Connector) app, follow these steps:
- In the Data sources window, click New Data Source.
- Select the type of data source:
- Data sources for assets of twin-type performance:
- Assets to create a data source for specific assets from a list of assets.
- Asset Types to create a data source for all assets of a certain asset type
- Other sources:
- High Resolution Assets or IDL File Subscription for data source over IDL files.
- Data sources for assets of twin-type performance:
- Select an asset, then select one or multiple aspects.
- The information button shows the variables within the selected aspects.
- You can select the multiple assets and aspects.
- Choose an update mechanism:
- Fixed Range: One-time data extraction to Visual Explorer.
- Continuous Update: Ongoing data synchronization
- Save the data source. Edit the name and save the location, also add tags for organizational purposes.
Creating a Workbook in Insights Hub Business Intelligence (Visual Explorer) for Dashboarding¶
Use the data source from Insights Hub Business Intelligence Data (Visual Explorer Connector) in Insights Hub Business Intelligence (Visual Explorer). Open the Insights Hub Business Intelligence (Visual Explorer) app in the Insights Hub Launchpad.
To create a Workbook in Visual Explorer, follow these steps:
- From the left navigation, select "Explore".
- Select the project where the data source is saved.
- Click "Create" to start a new Workbook.
- Select the required Data source and connect to it.
- Drag and drop measures into rows or columns for visualization.
Drag right to add and drag left to remove. - Add a Dimension.
Automatically aggregated values are shown. - Select a value to access editing options.
- Change the timestamp.
- Edit the axis name.
- Add dimensions to the Marks section.
- Customize the visualization as required.
- In the Marks panel, adjust properties such as Color, Size, Label, Path, and more.
Create calculation in a new Worksheet¶
To create customization in a worksheet, follow these steps:
- Drag and drop another measure to a row or column.
- Customize the visualization by adjusting settings, such as changing the color for each asset.
- Click Workbook to add a new Worksheet.
- Select a measure and choose Create Calculated Field.
- Find available functions in the list to define the calculation.
In this case, the IF function: A red message appears if there are mistakes in the code of the function. - Click Okay to save.
- Click the Show Me button in the upper-right corner. The available possibilities for the select values will be shown.
- Customize visualization.
Create Dashboard¶
To create a dashboard, follow these steps:
- Select a "New Dashboard".
- Define the "Dashboard Size" as required.
- Select "Show" dashboard title.
Double-click the title box to edit it and apply the changes to update the view. - Drag and drop the desired worksheets onto the dashboard to display visualizations.
- Customize the Dashboard with the options under Objects:
Add a text box and an image.
To add more Data sources, follow these steps:
- Create a new "Worksheet".
- In the Data section, connect to another data source.
- Search for the required source and click "Create".
- Create a graph using this new data source.
- Add the newly created worksheet to the dashboard.
To open the Dashboard from the main menu, follow these steps:
- Open the dashboard from the main menu.
- Search for and select the desired "Dashboard".
- Select required available options:
- Click "Share" to share the Dashboard with other tenant users.
- Use the available download if needed.
- Select "Edit" to modify the dashboard view.
