Managing mass balance

Mass balance is the process of validating the correspondence between the actual material inputs and outputs of an operation and the theoretical recipe parameters, ensuring complete traceability and data consistency.

Before a mass balance analysis can be performed, the necessary data must be available. For more information, refer to Mass balance prerequisites.

Procedure

To calculate the mass balance, do the following:

  1. In the "Search" page, click the "Mass Balance" button from the menu on the left.
  2. Select a Plant and a Work Order: the page columns are populated with information on Materials, Recipe In, Actual In, Recipe Out and Actual Out that you can analyze and compare.

Note

  • Material colors are generated from a random palette, allowing all materials of the same type to be consistently identified.
  • Color assignments are saved in the browser’s local user settings. They persist across sessions in the same browser but are not shared across different browsers.
