Managing mass balance¶

Mass balance is the process of validating the correspondence between the actual material inputs and outputs of an operation and the theoretical recipe parameters, ensuring complete traceability and data consistency.

Using the Advanced Filter on the Mass Balance Page¶

An "Advanced Filter" panel on the Mass Balance page helps you precisely select the data to be included in your calculations.

Applying Mandatory Filters¶

You must apply the following three filters in the specified order:

• Plant: Select a single plant or choose All Plants to search across your entire organization.
• Equipment: Select a single piece of equipment or choose All Equipment to include all machines within the selected plant(s).
• Time Range: Define the time frame for your search. You can quickly select the last WEEK, DAY (default), or HOUR. To search within a specific period, select CUSTOM and choose a start and end date/time from the calendar.

Selecting Work Orders¶

After you apply the advanced filters, the system performs a calculation to identify all Work Orders that match the specified criteria. The "Work Orders" drop-down list is then populated exclusively with the matching results. From this list, you can select one or more work orders to include in your analysis.

Performing the Mass Balance Calculation¶

Once you have selected the desired work orders from the drop-down list, you can proceed with the mass balance calculation. The analysis is performed simultaneously across all selected work orders.

Procedure¶

To calculate the mass balance, do the following:

1. In the "Search" page, click the "Mass Balance" button from the menu on the left.
2. Select a Plant and a Work Order: the page columns are populated with information on Materials, Recipe In, Actual In, Recipe Out and Actual Out that you can analyze and compare.
