Creating containment requests¶
There are three ways to create a containment request:
- Contain by file.
- Contain forward from a single item.
- Contain from genealogy level.
Note
When an item is included in a containment request, a red exclamation mark is displayed on the item tile.
Creating a containment request by file¶
You can create a containment request by importing a previously prepared CSV file that includes the list of materials to be potentially contained. Once the file is successfully imported, the containment request will be available for download by all connected systems and can be viewed at any time by Traceability users with the appropriate roles.
To create a Containment request by file, follow the steps:
- In the "Search" page, click "Contain By File".
The dialog box displays the "Name" field prefilled asContainmentRequest_<identifier>. You may optionally add a comment in the text box. - Browse and upload the CSV file you previously created.
- Click "Save" to create the containment request.
When the CSV file is larger than 50K, the system splits it into multiple batches to be uploaded separately. You can upload each batch individually and then confirm the containment action by clicking "Save."
Creating a containment request from the "Backward and forward genealogy" page¶
You can create a containment request from the "Backward and forward genealogy" page. For each swimlane that represents a genealogy level of the manufacturing process, a containment action can be performed. The containment request will include all elements of the selected level. If you enable the "Forward Containment" option, the application will also include all materials in the subsequent levels that are impacted by the current selection. If the "Forward Containment" option is disabled, the containment request considers only the items present in the level where the action was initiated.
Creating a containment request from a single item¶
Once an item is selected from the "Search" page, users can navigate to the analysis page and initiate a containment operation based on the focused item. This operation is always performed using a forward genealogy search. As a result, in addition to the selected item, the application will include all items produced from the selected item in the containment request, extending through the genealogy chain up to the end of the genealogy or the calculation limit defined by the application.
Checking the status of containment requests¶
To check the progress of a containment request, do the following:
-
Click "Contain History" in the left-hand menu to view the list of containment requests, ordered by creation date. In the grid, a containment request can have one of four statuses:
- "In progress": The request is created until processing is complete.
- "Completed": The request is finalized and available to all connected systems.
- "Releasing": The release action has started after analysis.
- "Released": Items with no issues are released.
-
Select the request to view its details in the right-hand panel.
- The "Details" tab shows information about the containment request.
- The "Production Tracking Items" tab shows the list of items included in the containment request.
- The "Acks Received" tab shows the acknowledgements to the containment request from external systems.
