Scope

We have worked hard to deliver a great Insights Hub experience. These release notes are relevant for Insights Hub Release in September 2024 and include new and adjusted features, fixed issues. If you find other issues, please give us your feedback by contacting our support team.

Predictive Learning

What's new?

  • Within this release, we have introduced the schedule job configuration with email notification:
    • the user can configure the job with email notification rule. The rule can be defined on getting notified based job Failed/succeeded or both.
    • in the rule, the user can provide the appropriate single or multiple email id's. The user's whose email's are configured in the rule will get the updates over email.
    • it is possible for the user to disable the rule and enable it later.
  • Within this release, we have also provided some CVE fixes.

Insights Hub Monitor

What's new?

  • With this release, the icon on the Launchpad has been updated.
  • The legacy dashboards in Monitor have been deprecated and removed in favor of Dashboard Designer boards.
  • The dropzone to upload files in Explore/Attachments has been improved.

MindConnect Library

What's new?

  • Within this release, we have released a new version of MindConnect Library 4.4.0 containing following changes:
    • cJSON library version is upgraded to 1.7.18.
    • Minimum required OpenSSL version is updated to 3.0.13 for users using OpenSSL as security library.
    • Minimum required libCurl version is updated to 8.6.0 for users using libCurl as http client.
    • QuoVadis Root CA 2 G3 certificate will be retired on 2024-10-15T04:00:00.000Z hence code examples are updated to use existing certificate as well as new certificate, i.e, "DigiCert Global Root G2".

Insights Hub Monitor

What's new?

  • Within this release,
    • we have introduced "Predict 2.0" to provide enhanced "Forecast" and "Anomaly Detection" capabilities for time series analytics use cases.
      You could start to use "Predict 2.0" via the navigation link under "Predict" in Monitor application. "Predict" as legacy version would be removed from the navigation after a period of time. Please refer to the concrete date from the pop-up message in its UI. "Predict 2.0 is having limited changes on UI/UX but provides an updated and improved machine learning algorithms as compared to the previous "Predict".
    • dataset edits are possible with use case edits on UI in the case that you have failures due to dataset issue.
    • limits are enforced on number of datapoints (number of rows x number of variables). 1 million datapoints are supported as of now.
    • the user can select dates which falls within 1M datapoints range.

MindConnect Firmware

What's new?

  • Within this release, we have introduced the following:
    • OPC UA support:
      • OPC UA browsing node limitation is updated to 300k nodes
      • OPC UA browsing timeout is extended from 90 minutes to 180 minutes
      • General command expiry time is reduced to 10 minutes.
    • Rockwell support:
      • Default session timeout is increased to 10s.
    • Remote services:
      • Restart remote service session after system restart, if configuration from previous session exists.

What's new?

  • Within this release, we have introduced Static default IP address for production network interface.

MindConnect Software Agent

What's new?

  • Within this release the MindConnect Software Agent is also available as Docker version.
  • Beside the already available Debian installer, you can now also download the plain Docker image. This can be used to run on any docker host equipped with docker runtime and docker-compose support but also on K8s system or e.g. on a Rancher or ESXi server (with K8s support).
  • Within this release, we have improved ping support for ping devices in different subnets.

Remote Services

What's new?

  • Devices running our endpoint software are now being referred as gateways for clarity.
  • Enhanced reporting of endpoint (gateway) and secondary target connection statuses. Service endpoint connectivity status is now also being displayed.
  • Simplified creation process for gateways and sites by reducing the number of mandatory fields.
  • Asset ID information can now be added to a gateway after its creation by editing the existing gateway.

  • Recommended screen resolution: 1920x1080 with zoom level 100%
  • Minimum screen resolution: 1280x720 with zoom level 100%

Requirements for service personnel's PCs hosting RS Service Endpoint (former Operator Client) as entry point for network-to-network access

  • Service Endpoint (Operator Client) can be downloaded from RS
  • Validated Hardware

    • Processor: x64 (Intel or AMD)
    • Recommended screen resolution: 1280x1024 and 1920x1080 with zoom level 100%*
    • Disk space occupied by Service Endpoint: 32MB
  • Validated Operating Systems

    • Microsoft Windows ® 10 or 11
    • Linux ® Debian 9 - x64
    • Linux ® Debian 10 - x86 or x64
  • Validated Browsers

    • Google ChromeTM version 68 or newer

Known Issues

  • There will be a second wave of public APIs to cover all RS system functionality.
  • System logs might take long time to load and sporadically can cause timeouts.
