Creating a new simulation model

To create a new simulation model, proceed as follows:

  1. In "Product Twin", click "Workbench" and then click "Digital Twin Definition".
  2. Select the Digital Twin Definition of your choice and click "See details". The Digital Twin Models configured for that Digital Twin Definition are displayed.
  3. Click "Digital Twin Model" and click "Simulation".

  4. In the "Details" page,
    • If the Digital twin is executable, then enable the toggle button.
    • Click "Select Model" in the "Selected Enterprise Model" field, to select the model.
      If the "Is Executable Digital Twin?" toggle button is enabled, then the users have an option to either to "Browse Models" or "Select a Model".
      • In the "Browse Models" tab, browse for the file type, upload the file and click "OK".
        Currently, only the "fmu" and "onnx" file types are supported.
      • In the "Select a Model" tab, choose the enterprise application from the drop-down in the "Enterprise Application" field and click "Search" and select the Enterprise model definition file from the existing list in the "Search for Model" field. Based on the selected model, the Description, Selected Enterprise Model and Sampling Time fields are automatically populated
    • If the "Is Executable Digital Twin?" toggle button is disabled, choose the enterprise application from the drop-down in the "Enterprise Application" field and click "Search" and select the Enterprise model definition file from the existing list in the "Search for Model" field. Based on the selected model, the Description, Selected Enterprise Model and Sampling Time fields are automatically populated.
    • Enter the name and description for the Digital Twin Model. Upload the relevant icon. Click "Proceed to next step".

  5. In the "Design Constants" screen, check the details and click "Proceed to next step".

  6. In the "Mapping" page, click "Add a mapping". For the selected Asset type, choose the variable from the drop-down. Select Virtual Variables. Click "Add Mapping". The created mapping is displayed on the screen. Click "Proceed to next step".

  7. In the "Virtual Sensors" screen, create mapping by following the steps mentioned in the previous step.
  8. In the "Variables & Thresholds" screen, enter the lower limit, upper limit values. To use any variable as KPI, check "Is KPI" checkbox. The Display Name for the variables can also be updated.

  9. In the "Instances" screen, select the required assets.

  10. Click "Save".

The Digital Twin model is successfully created.
