Within this release of Insights Hub Local Private Cloud, you will experience the Insights Hub services and applications in the same way as our public cloud offerings.

Depending on the chosen plans and services for each deployment, new capabilities will be available with this release for the following products:

Insights Hub LPC OSS Backing Services Upgrades

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following:

    • Cert-Manager: The Cert-Manager component has been upgraded from version 1.17 to version 1.18.
      The deployment and upgrade activities for the LPC environment, including support for deploying Rancher, ADFS, PGO (Postgres), RabbitMQ, Redis, Spark, RabbitMQ MQTT, and Insights Hub Services.
    • Ceph: Rook has been upgraded from version v1.15.9 to v1.16.7 to ensure compatibility with the new Ceph version and Ceph has been upgraded from version v18.2.4 to v19.2.2.
      Note: A data backup is required before performing this upgrade.
    • Istio Service: The Istio service mesh has been upgraded from version 1.24 to 1.27.
      This upgrade aligns the service mesh with Kubernetes 1.31 compatibility requirements and brings LPC onto a fully community-supported Istio release.
    • Kafka: Apache Kafka has been upgraded from version 3.7.0 to 3.9.0 on the Private Cloud (LPC) environment.
      The Bitnami Kafka Helm chart has been upgraded from 28.2.5 to 31.5.0.
    • Livy image: The Livy image in the LPC environment was rebuilt using version 0.8.0-incubating to address the critical CVE-2019-17571 vulnerability. Since Livy is an incubation project without active releases, the existing image was patched instead of upgrading to a newer version.
    • Logging OpenSearch and Logging OpenSearch Dashboard: Logging OpenSearch and Logging OpenSearch Dashboard have been upgraded from version 2.19.0 to 2.19.2 in the LPC environment as part of the OSS upgrade cycle.
    • Longhorn: Longhorn has been upgraded from version 1.7.3 to 1.8.x in the LPC environment.
      This upgrade was required because the 1.7.x series reached End-of-Life (EOL) in September 2025 and no longer receives security updates or community support. Moving to version 1.8.x ensures continued support, improved reliability, and access to the latest bug fixes and security patches.
    • OpenSearch: OpenSearch Dashboard has been upgraded from version 2.19.0 to 2.19.2.
      This version upgrade addresses multiple medium-severity CVEs to improve the security posture of the search and analytics engine.
    • OpenSearch Dashboard: OpenSearch Dashboard has been upgraded from version 2.19.0 to 2.19.2 in the LPC environment to incorporate the latest fixes and improvements.
    • PostgreSQL: The database engine on LPC environments has been upgraded from version 14.6 to 15.14, using the Crunchy Data PGO operator (v5.7.4).
    • RabbitMQ: This is upgraded from version 2.13.7 to 4.1.3 in the LPC environment.
      RabbitMQ 3.x and 4.0.x have reached the end of community support. This upgrade moves all instances to the 4.1.3 release line via Bitnami, which serves as a transitional step toward the target 4.2.x release using the official RabbitMQ Kubernetes Operator.
    • RabbitMQ-MQTT: RabbitMQ has been upgraded from version 2.13.7 to 4.1.3 in the LPC environment. As part of this upgrade, the frame_max parameter has been set to 131072 to ensure proper message framing compatibility with the new version.
    • Rancher: Rancher has been upgraded from version 2.10.3 to 2.11.1.
      This upgrade addresses several critical and high-severity CVEs, improving the overall security posture of the container orchestration layer.
    • Redis: Redis has been upgraded from version 7.2.0 to 7.2.11 in the LPC environment using the Bitnami Redis Helm Chart version 18.0.2.
    • Spark: Apache Spark has been upgraded from version 3.5.3 to 3.5.6 on the LPC environment.
      The upgrade uses Bitnami Spark Helm chart version 9.4.1.
    • TLS Implementation in Redis: Transport Layer Security (TLS) has been implemented for Redis connections across applicable services.
      All communication between platform services and Redis instances is now encrypted in transit, strengthening the overall security posture of the infrastructure.
      This change covers services using both Java (Lettuce client) and Python-based Redis connections.

Insights Hub Agent Diagnostic

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following:

    • The Agent Diagnostic functionality has been relocated to provide a more organized and intuitive user experience, particularly for MindConnect users.
    • It is now available under Assets > MindConnect Plugin for each asset, instead of a separate icon on the main page.
    • This change improves organization by grouping Agent Diagnostic with related MindConnect functionalities.
    • You can now run diagnostics directly within the selected asset.
    • The integration enhances the overall workflow and usability of MindConnect features.
    • The functionality remains unchanged, only its location has been updated.

Insights Hub Business Intelligence

What's new?

  • We now support direct connections from Business Intelligence to the Opcenter Intelligence Manufacturing Data Warehouse on LPC using dedicated database credentials. This includes the use of a Creator license. You can browse your data, build queries, and edit OCIN data sources directly in Business Intelligence.

Insights Hub Dashboard Designer

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following:

    • Grafana for Dashboard Designer in the LPC deployment has been upgraded from version 10 to version 11.
    • This upgrade addresses critical CVEs present in version 10 and introduces new features available in version 11. It also adds OEE plugin panels to the LPC deployment.

Insights Hub Energy Manager

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following enhancements in Insights Hub Energy Manager version 1.25.0:

    • A new global search capability has been introduced, enabling users to quickly find and navigate to relevant data across the Energy Manager application.
    • Users can now add comments and attach files directly to time-series data, assets, and parameters, improving collaboration, traceability, and contextual documentation within the platform.
    • Batch analysis now supports product configuration and usage tracking, allowing users to incorporate product-level details into their analysis workflows for more comprehensive operational insights.

Insights Hub MindConnect MQTT

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following enhancements for MindConnect MQTT and MindConnect API:

    • MindConnect MQTT devices can now securely connect to your LPC using basic authentication (username and password), enabling broader device compatibility for private MindSphere instances.
    • Cloud Edge Event Router (CEER) has been enhanced to support basic authentication credentials, enabling seamless device onboarding.

Insights Hub Monitor

What's new?

  • With this release, the Cases user interface has been enhanced with an integrated search field, allowing users to quickly filter and locate cases using the case title, handle, or description.

Insights Hub OEE

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following:

    • With this release, the OEE application now supports both 24-hour and 12-hour (AM/PM) time formats. Date and time displays adapt based on the user’s country settings. The configuration page reflects the selected format and users can create calendar events by choosing time ranges accordingly.
    • Machine status can now be derived from multiple time-series variables and used in OEE calculations.
    • A graphical rule editor enables users to define status rules based on process data values using AND/OR conditions and standard Boolean logic.
    • Defined rules can be saved and reused across multiple OEE assets.
    • This provides greater flexibility in determining machine status and supports more accurate OEE calculations.
    • Insights Hub OEE now supports a stop justification workflow.
    • Downtime reasons can be configured to require operators to select a more specific justification reason.
    • Operators must provide a detailed and informed reason that better explains the cause of the stop.
    • The feature includes global configuration options to control the stop justification process.
    • The Reason Tree Editor has been enhanced to define which downtime reasons can be used as justification reasons.
    • The Downtime Management page now includes a filter to display downtimes that require justification.
    • This feature ensures that the downtime management workflow aligns with your established procedures.

Insights Hub Opcenter Intelligence

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following:

    • Opcenter Intelligence (OCIN) now supports deployment on the Insights Hub LPC Rancher and OpenShift platforms. This release extends OCIN's availability beyond its existing infrastructure to the LPC environment running on Rancher and OpenShift container orchestration platforms.
    • Opcenter Intelligence documentation is available to customers who are signed in to the Siemens Support Center using their Insights Hub (Siemens ID) credentials.

Insights Hub Predict

What's new?

  • With this release, we provide the following:

    • Predict Assets are now the commercial upgrade unit, replacing legacy Prediction and Anomaly Detection upgrades. Quotas align with subscribed IIoT Data Packages and can be expanded on demand. Existing over-quota assets remain usable, but creating new assets requires additional quota or asset cleanup.
    • Guided Tour provides step-by-step onboarding for dataset creation and building forecast and anomaly models using sample data.
    • System-Driven Anomalies now support severity levels (low, medium, and high) with color-coded visualization and real-time threshold adjustment with instant preview and save.
    • Production Model Scheduling now supports pause and resume controls for greater operational flexibility.
