August 2024¶
This release note is relevant for Insights Hub Local Private Cloud Release in August 2024.
9th August 2024¶
Within this release of Insights Hub Local Private Cloud, you will experience the Insights Hub services and applications in the same way with from our public cloud offerings.
Depending on the chosen plans and services for each deployment, the following service will be available with this release:
- Asset Health and Maintenance
- Asset Manager
- Dashboards
- IoT Timeseries
- MindConnect IoT2040
- MindConnect IoT2050
- MindConnect Nano
- MindConnect Software Agent
- Monitor
- Insights Hub OEE
- Predictive Learning
Asset Health and Maintenance¶
What's new?
- With this release, we have implemented significant stability fixes and performance enhancements in event processing, automatic ticket creation, and user management.
Asset Manager¶
What's new?
- Asset Manager displays all assets that users have access to, according to the defined policies (PBAS), regardless of any hierarchical gaps that might exist.
- Within this release, we have implemented various quality of life features to make the asset configuration easier.
Dashboards¶
What's new?
- With this release, the Dashboards application is available on Private Cloud for both existing and new subscribers. This application allows users to access all available dashboards in their Insights Hub account, regardless of the application used to create them.
IoT Timeseries¶
What's new?
- Within this release, we are upgrading the major version of Hazelcast libraries from 3.x to 5.x. To accomplish this upgrade, we will temporarily reduce the deployment to zero replicas and then restore it to its original configuration. As a result, there will be approximately a 5-minute downtime for each IoT Timeseries service. During the scheduled downtime,
- Data ingested via MindConnect APIs will face delay of few minutes (approximately 5 minutes)
- Data cannot be ingested using the /timeseries APIs. Other timeseries-related operations via /aggregates APIs will be affected too. If you call those APIs, you will get 5XX errors.
MindConnect IoT2040¶
What's new?
- Within this release, the MindConnect devices can be pinged externally to verify the physical network settings. This feature will be available for a limited time and then disabled for security reasons. It assists in the initial network setup between the MindConnect and the connected automation devices.
MindConnect IoT2050¶
What's new?
- Within this release, the MindConnect devices can be pinged externally to verify the physical network settings. This feature will be available for a limited time and then disabled for security reasons. It assists in the initial network setup between the MindConnect and the connected automation devices.
MindConnect Nano¶
What's new?
- Within this release, the MindConnect devices can be pinged externally to verify the physical network settings. This feature will be available for a limited time and then disabled for security reasons. It assists in the initial network setup between the MindConnect and the connected automation devices.
MindConnect Software Agent¶
What's new?
- Within this release, the MindConnect devices can be pinged externally to verify the physical network settings. This feature will be available for a limited time and then disabled for security reasons. It assists in the initial network setup between the MindConnect and the connected automation devices.
Monitor¶
What's new?
- With this release,
- the user can link dashboards not only to an asset, but also to an asset type. This reduces a lot of manual work for creation and maintenance. You can create only one dashboard with parameters and re-use it multiple times.
- the user can easily navigate to the source of an event, if it was triggered by Rules or the Visual Flow Creator.
- the time series export is enhanced with the calculated timestamp related to the selected time zone.
- the Rule wizard supports string operators 'equal', 'not equal' and 'on change'.
- the readability for the chart and its legend and tooltip has been improved for the dark theme.
Insights Hub OEE¶
What's new?
- With this release, we provide the following features:
- Read design speed from a variable
- Production target
Predictive Learning¶
What's new?
- With this release,
- we have extended the character limit for schedule names. Previously, these names were limited to a maximum of 12 characters. Now, they can be up to 256 characters long, providing more flexibility for naming conventions.
- we have improved the "Manage Environments" page to offer a more comprehensive view. Previously, it only displayed running environments by default. Now, it lists all environments associated with a specific tenant, providing a more complete overview and better management of your environments.
- we have upgraded the Python version for the predictive learning environment. The job execution environment now uses Python 3.10, while the model validation environment uses Python 3.9.
- we have updated the file system permissions for model validation and job execution. Users can no longer create new files or folders in their Jupyter notebook and Docker container, except in a specific directory. The file system will be set to read-only mode during these processes, with the /tmp directory as the only exception. Any new files or folders required during model validation and job execution should be placed in the /tmp directory only. This change is designed to enhance system security and maintain the integrity of the validation and execution environments.
