Ping support for MindConnect Nano¶

Overview¶

MindConnect devices can ping devices to check the physical network settings. This supports you in initial stage of network setup between the MindConnect device and the connected automation devices.

To check the physical network status of MindConnect IoT2040 following ping support is available:

• Enable ping
• Ping a device

Enable ping¶

You need to enable the ping to accept ping requests. The status of the ping support is shown in the MindConnect device plugin UI.

After enabling ping, MindConnect devices can be pinged remotely to check the physical network settings. This feature is available for 10 minutes and then it is automatically disabled for security reasons. This supports you in initial network setup between the MindConnect and the connected automation devices.

Ping a device¶

MindConnect devices can ping devices to check the physical network settings. User can ping a device by entering the IP address of the device which should be pinged by the MindConnect device.

After entering the IP address of the devíce which should be pinged by the MindConnect device a command will be sent to the MindConnect device, and the result of the ping request will be shown after the command had been executed successfully.
