Custom Datasource Protocol¶
The MindConnect IoT2050 now supports custom data source protocol. This feature allows you to create a protocol of the user choice to any data source apart from from the supported protocols. The protocol allows external applications to receive configurations and upload time-series data to the cloud. The process involves creating a new technical user, obtaining impersonated token, creating the protocol, and configuring data sources. Then the external application utilises the MQTT communication channels to send and receive data through the gateway device.
Prerequisites¶
Enable the MQTT-Mindconnect data bus port for external generic data adapters on TCP port for MindConnect IoT2050 in Firewall setting.
Note
The MQTT message size is limited to 1MB maximum.
