Introduction¶
The OS Bar connects all Insights Hub applications on a UI level. It shows Insights Hub specific information and content, as well as application specific details. It also provides centralized functionalities to navigate back to the Launchpad or logging out, making it mandatory for every application to integrate the OS Bar.

Features¶
Environment menu¶
Click on the environment name in the OS Bar. This opens a menu, which displays information about the current environment, such as:
- Environment name
- Environment type
- Environment location
- Associated environments within your account
- Environment-specific legal links

To individualize the company logo, company name and environment specific links for the OS Bar, refer to the chapter Customize Launchpad and OS Bar in the Settings documentation.
Notification Center¶
Push notifications will be shown for each user with the bell icon, which also shows the number of unread notifications. Click on it to open the list of unread notifications. This displays the detailed information such as:
- Expected maintenance and downtimes
- Newly deployed applications in your environment
Information menu¶
Click on the information icon in the OS Bar to display links related to Insights Hub, such as:
- Online Community
- Support Center
- Corporate Information
- Acceptable Use Policy
Furthermore, app developers can define additional information for their app. The app information and app operator-specific links are shown in the information menu, below the related links.
The following image shows an example of this drop-down menu:
User menu¶
Click on the user icon in the OS Bar to display the following details:
- The currently logged in user
- A link to the user preferences
- The logout functionality
