Downtime management¶
The Downtime Management page shows a detailed overview of the machine downtimes and downtime-related information such as added measures, cases, and comments. Here an operator can monitor and edit downtime events occurring on their machines and lines.

The page shows a table of all the downtimes that occurred for the selected filter combination. The table itself can be sorted by clicking the up or down arrow next to every column name. In addition, you can also search for downtime reasons by typing in the search bar and selecting the corresponding downtime reasons to use as a filter. You can change the table view to only include microstops or macrostops using the drop-down box. If downtime justification is enabled, then there is a filter to show "Only justification needed".

In addition, you can customize the table columns using the "Columns" drop-down selection.

Each item in the downtime management table shows the following information:
- Downtime reason
- Occurred
- Time loss
- Total duration (includes time not scheduled for production)
- If it has been overwritten
- If it requires justification
- Number of measures linked to the downtime
- Number of cases linked to the downtime
- Number of comments linked to the downtime
To see more details, to edit the reason, and to add measures, cases, and comments to a downtime, click on one of the entries in the table. The following screen is displayed.

At the top of the screen, the details of the downtime, the current assigned reason, and the time when downtime started and ended is displayed. On the left and on the right of the header section, the two arrows
allows you to navigate to the previous or following item of the downtime list. If a filter or sort is applied, then the previous or next item of the filtered list will be displayed. To get back to the table view, click on the close button
in the upper right corner.
Overwrite an existing downtime reason¶
To overwrite the existing downtime reason, click on the down arrow in the reason section of the page. A list will populate as in the screenshot below. Select one reason from the populated list or find the desired reason using the search bar.

The list of reasons available to select depends on the settings for "Downtime selection" in the Downtime configuration. If, for example, downtime justification is enabled and "Strong subtree reasons only" is selected, then the list of available reasons only includes those reasons below the original reason in the reason tree that have not been marked as "weak" reasons.
In the above example, Downtime justification is enabled and the original reason is highlighted as a "weak" reason and therefore needs to be justified. If another weak reason is selected, in the case of strict mode, the downtime still shows as needing to be justified.

If strict mode is not enabled, then this downtime is considered justified even though the operator has selected another weak reason.
In all cases, whenever a downtime reason is overwritten, the name of the logged-in user is recorded. This enables traceability of downtime management changes.
Assign a measure¶
When you have a fixed downtime, you can add multiple measures to the recorded downtime. To add one measure, click "Add a measure" button. Select a suitable measure from the drop-down list.

On selecting a measure, it will automatically be added to the downtime. By clicking on the expand arrow
on the measure, you can see the attached description of the downtime. In addition, you can also either replace the measure or delete it via the respective button.

Create a case¶
In this step, you can create multiple cases related to a specific downtime. This is applicable, for example, when a certain issue at the machine re-occurs after it was resolved by the machine operator via a case that can be tracked for further actions on this issue and involve other parties such as the maintenance team. To create a case, click "Add a case".

Enter the following information:
- Title
- Description
- Type (Planned or Incident)
- Assigned To (Select a user from the list)
- Priority (High, Medium or Low)
- Due Date
- Status (Open, On Hold, In Progress, Done)
Click "Add" to create the case.
Add a comment¶
In special cases, it is also necessary to add additional information to a recorded downtime. To add a comment, click "Add a comment". The in-line editor allows you to structure the text properly and add links. Once you click outside of the editor, the comment will automatically be saved.

You can also edit (via the "edit" icon) and delete (via the "trash can" icon) the comment.
