SC400, CM IOT, CM IOT Config App and DTA Cloud¶

This section describes the actions required for users of SIMOTICS CONNECT 400 (SC400), Connection Module IOT (CM IOT), the CM IOT Config app, and Drivetrain Analyzer Cloud (DTA Cloud) as part of the upcoming Xcelerator gateway migration.

Complete the actions described below to ensure that existing devices and applications continue to operate with the new gateway.

Firmware Update for CM IOT and SC400 Devices¶

CM IOT and SC400 devices require a firmware update. The update can be completed using one of the following methods.

Automatic Update¶

Automatic firmware update is the recommended method.

If your CM IOT or SC400 device is configured for automatic firmware updates, no further action is required.

To enable Automatic firmware updates in DTA Cloud, navigate to Settings and use the Automatic firmware update tab to provide consent for automatic download, installation, and execution of firmware updates for Connection Modules.

Manual Update¶

If you manage firmware updates manually, perform the update locally by using the CM IOT Config app.

The timeframe for manual updates will be announced separately. The expected timeframe is between September and November. Use the official announcement as the authoritative schedule for the rollout.

Update for Mobile Application CM IOT Config¶

A new version of the CM IOT Config mobile application will be released in parallel in Google Play and the Apple App Store.

If your mobile device is configured for automatic application updates, the latest version of the app with support for the new gateway is installed automatically.

If automatic application updates are disabled on your mobile device, ensure that the latest version of the CM IOT Config app is downloaded and installed manually.

Configuration Changes for Insights Hub and Xcelerator Connection for DTA Cloud¶

No asset reconfiguration or re-onboarding is required for the connection between Insights Hub and Xcelerator in DTA Cloud.

However, review your current setup and update it where required.

API Functionality¶

If you use API functionality, note that the API URLs are updated as part of the migration.

Update your API calls accordingly.
