Onboarding MindConnect LIB¶

In order to onboard your MindConnect LIB, you need to create an asset of type core.mclib and open the MindConnect LIB Plugin in the asset detail view. Within the plugin, select the security profile and generate the boarding configuration. You can change the security profile as long as the MindConnect LIB is not onboarded. Otherwise, you need to offboard it and onboard it again with a new boarding configuration.

Security profile¶

MindConnect LIB creates secure connectivity from an onsite device to Insights Hub.

You can choose between the following security profiles:

• RSA 3072: A public/private key pair (3072bit) for enhanced security which requires more computing power on the devices.
• Shared Secret: A shared key (256bit) for lightweight devices.

Set up boarding configuration¶

In order to use MindConnect LIB, you have to generate an onboarding configuration. Thereafter, you can copy the onboarding key into the system you want to connect with Insights Hub.
